HOLE IN ONE

Yes, the title says it all. I hit my first hole in one today. It was a 100-yard par 3. I used a 60 degree lob wedge and the funniest part was that me and my brother were talking about hitting a hole in one the whole day. It was hilarious when it actually went in.

Another funny part was that David didn't even see it go into the hole. He was down teeing up his ball to hit when it rolled up and into the cup. I ran around screaming and he didn't believe me. I immediately ran the 100 yards down to the hole and reached in the hole, grabbed the ball, and held it up! It was incredible! I played horrible the rest of the round because I was so jacked up!

I got to thinkin' as I was standing on the next tee box. I said to David, "Do you think anyone's ever hit two holes in one on the same day?"

How selfish of me?! But how revealing! I had just hit a hole in one and I wanted more! I could hit 100 holes in one in my lifetime and if I did that, I'd be in search of number 101. Anything on this earth that has temporary value will never ever fulfill me.

Salvation in Jesus Christ - now that's a one time thing that will always fulfill me. I can honestly say that when I was driving home after playing golf today, I thought to myself, "That honestly wasn't as great as experiencing God this summer." Seeing people come to Christ and doing something with ETERNAL VALUE will fulfill and won't leaving you wanting more.

My greatest fear in life is becoming significant at something that doesn't matter.

  1. Dear Joel,
I am not a part of Beulah Beach but I just wanted to thank you for sharing this.. You're so right, all of the little joys in life are not as joyful, and have no comparison to life now, and life eternally through Jesus Christ..
I'm excited for your year ahead, and so pumped you're living the dream! :)
